Feminist History Walk

The Feminist History Walk takes us on a journey through the past and present of feminist struggles. Through quotes we will dive into the stories of feminist movements, uprisings and debates. You will learn about how feminists have organized themselves in different places, times and contexts.

Take the 'Feminist History Walk' with us!

How is it possible that feminicides, murders of women* because of their gender, are still not considered a crime everywhere?  How can it be that women* are still seen as objects of conquest in situations of conflict and war? And how do they fight against this?

These and other questions are the starting point of the "Feminist History Walk".
The educational material is a set of 41 cards covering all regions in the world. We have the rebellious women* in and before our time to thank for achievements that include the unrestricted right to vote, emancipation from colonial powers, liberal abortion laws, and modern laws on sexual offences.
Starting with selected quotes, we delve into these stories of feminist movements, rebellions, and discussions.
The material approaches the subject matter in a game-based way. The walk through history is structured in the form of a puzzle that we can add to, card by card. This creates a timeline that shows us whose shoulders we are standing upon today.
